SO ‘n SO Gals was started by a few expat women, living in Phuket. We share information and skills for sewing and crafts, sourcing supplies, and how to thrive in our local community. Since 2013, we have focused our efforts on the Good Shepherd Phuket project called Seeds of Change. We are textile buffs, making a difference, one stitch @ a time!
Using donated supplies, we repurpose discarded textiles back into useful and saleable small items.
Recycling for Art
Using broken jewelry, drift wood, and other treasures, Aunt Nola turns discarded items into wind chimes, mobiles, suncatchers, and wall hangings. Many creations are just for fun and to experiment with technique. Most hangings are sold immediately and custom requests are always considered.
New life for old stuff…
Thanks to the Thrift Shops and fabric donations from local merchants, there are endless ways to recycle and bring new life to old things.
- Fabric remnants used to make handbags, shopping totes, baby quilts, and zippered pouches.
- Refinish old furniture, paint old clay pots
- Reimage and update clothing
- Turn broken jewelry into works of hanging art
More examples of work can be found here on the SO ‘n SO Gals FB page.
